At first, I was going to get a friend to write a satirical version on my life in the form that one would typically read on the dust jackets of books. I felt that if I wrote a serious one that it would come off as extremely pretentious and even as I write this, it feel slightly pretentious. As that has fallen by the wayside, I feel that it is important to have this section on the site, though through my writing, you can get a better understanding of me. I think the best way to sum up who I am is through two things : My favorite shirt and my degree.

The shirt in question is this one. Most of my fashion consists of ThinkGeek shirts, but this one shows both of my passions in such a simple package that it has since become my favorite shirt. On the shirt, it has a portion of Shakespeare’s famous monologue from Hamlet , written in Regular Expression. How this sums me up is also tied into my degree. I graduated Texas A & M International University with a BA in English and a minor in Management Information Systems, a strange degree combination and still to this day, people still look at me weird. The reason for all is that I am passionate on my writing. I love taking apart films and stories, trying to get to the root of the story as much as I like to design and program software, trying to get to the root of how all the elements fit together.

Original slated as a two part project, this section was for biographical and memoir pieces, trying to capture my fragmented mind in both a formal and sporadic medium. It was later combined with my other project, The Great American Writing Project, which focused on my fiction and poetry work. The site has since become a free form writing project, with a combination of memoirs, fiction, and journalistic writing.
