“Every why hath a wherefore” - Dromio of Syracuse

   Well, I have completed the finishing touches and completed the final draft for Claire’s short story contest. It was possibly the strangest and most cathartic writing experience to date. I will not publish it here until the contest it over, so you’ll have to wait till the end to read it. As of this moment, I have no idea how I will do against the rest of the writers and can’t wait to see what others have come up with. I can’t wait till this is over.

    Writing for me has become possible my “ace up my sleeve” skill that seems to help me in my journey through life, more so these days than my web programming skills and slightly more than my computer skills. I’ll explain.

    Thought I rarely write on the subject, but I am a huge computer enthusiast. Right now, I am working on a Facebook application programmed in the Ruby on Rails framework. It is one of my passions to program and Ruby is slowly becoming my language of choice. It gives me the whole fuzzy feeling I got when I started back in my QBASIC days and I feel like I have reconnected with my youth.

   It’s interesting that I was not originally a writer in my youth. Confidentially, I used to hate writing. It was such a bore coming up with topics for class. It never became a skill of mine until I started college and wasn’t fully developed until I switched majors. Ever since then, it has been one of the best skills I have acquired.

   Now, I’m writing this here for one reason only. One day, Rails and Ruby won’t be the top language of the Internet. In fact, the Internet will probably change dramatically over time. But one thing will make sure that regards of what Web X.0 will have in store, that writing will carry me there. I am thankfully that I decided four years ago to take that life changing plunge into becoming who I am today.
