Yet More Travel Thoughts…

Ever since Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote earlier this week, I’ve been extremely excited. Even though I still have yet to purchase my first Apple computer, I am a huge supporter of the company and its principles. I know some out there really don’t see why I support the company, considering that I’m well aware I could not only build a faster computer at a cheaper cost. Well, to be honest, it’s not the hardware that’s attractive, but simply a lot of the programs that are made for the mac side, such as Scrivener and Textmate. Sometimes though, I do wish those Objective-C coders would migrate their cocoa applications over to the Windows side, just so I could try them out.
But tonight’s post is not about WWDC. The event itself is covered in numerous places, so if you want more information on that, please refer to those articles. Nope, tonight is one other thought that entered my head during my travels, captured in my new orange book. It is another stray thought, though it is once again that of a character. It is a fairly fleshed out character and is already part of a story. As to where this will be worked into, I am not quite sure. Probably somewhere important. Anyway, enjoy.
She probably has a boyfriend back home. Most girls like that do. Granted, it’s not like anything would happen if this were not the case. It’s just that’s the first thought that pops into my head whenever I see a cute girl on any journey. Not let try to talk to her” or “man I hope I sit next to her.” Nope, simply that she is probably taken.
The funny thing is hat this is the standard thought that enters my head regardless of the girl, regardless of the time, regardless of the location. I guess it’s my minds built in safety feature to prevent me from placing too much faith into that sort of emotion. It is a common thought of mine to fall for a cute face. It’s a curse and the logical side of my mind has had too much with the flights of fancy my emotional side’s blunders in ways of the heart. So, with a quick logic check, it completely kills the idea.
I don’t know if this thought is pessimistic, realistic, or somewhere in between, but whatever the case, it is what the gray matter occupying the void in my skull decides to think and I tend not to question its ways. I’ll figure this out one day…

Well there you have it. Though this may simply be a snippet, it is a character I have written before and is already in my major work. Though he is fleshed out, I wouldn’t mind any comments on the matter. Some of you are well aware of the character written here and to some of you, he may be new. Whichever the case, remember that he is nothing more than fiction. At least I think he’s fiction…. hmm. Anyway, with that I must be off. Tomorrow is another day and another challenge. Till then, may you find whatever it is that keeps you driving towards your dreams.
