Last night, I went to a Q & A session with Kevin Smith at The Long Center here in Austin. The night was great and I loved every minute of it. This video was recorded about 45 minutes after the event, showing my thoughts on the night plus some brief thoughts on the upcoming SXSW. Enjoy:

So what does this mean for you, dear reader. Well, as this will be my first year, there is a huge potential with my twitter feed having a ton of SXSW specific posts and the like, from Re-tweets (RTs) and check-ins from various other social websites and applications that I use. It may get a little too crazy and maybe a bit annoying for those not at the conference. Granted, I will try my best not to bog it down, but I make no promises, as I tend to get excited when I'm at these sorts of things. So, with that in mind, here are a few tips to limit my tweets to not be bothersome to you:

Stop Following me for a limited time : This is probably the easiest and most direct way to get rid of the potential twitter spam. Sure, I may be sad to lose any followers, but it is a valid way to get rid of the wave that may come.

Use a twitter client that filters posts : I plan to use the hashtag of #sxsw during the whole conference, so if it has that hashtag and you don't care about the conference, filter away

This list may be revised and added to at a later date, but for now, realize that the conference is coming and that I am excited by it. That's all for now.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rvillegas.org/blog/2010/1/9/j-is-for-january-and-ces.html"><rss:title>J is for January (and CES)</rss:title><rss:link>http://rvillegas.org/blog/2010/1/9/j-is-for-january-and-ces.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Hello everyone. I realize I haven't posted in a while, but bear with me as I'm in the processes of organizing my work area at my apartment and getting everything set up to be a more productive writer in all aspect of writing, including the blog here. Right now, I'm watching a ton of live coverage from CES as not only is CNET doing live content, but Revision3 and TWiT. Its a bit crazy splitting my eyes on each network so that I don't miss a thing. It's extremely informative and with the help of the three networks, I'm not missing a thing.

As stated before, I've redone my workspace at my apartment to not only have more space, but to use my new birthday gift to its fullest - the 27inch i7 iMac. It's crazy that I got it and I'm loving it. I've almost got down how I'm going to use the Mac in conjunction with my laptop here to make my mobile writing sync with my home writing. I'm going to do some tests to even determine if I'll even keep Windows on this laptop, which I think will be the case.

This year is also going to be a year of learning. Though not with this post, I'm trying to get into the habit of typing in markdown. It is all part of my "less formatting, more writing" style I want to get into where out of habit I just start typing and not worry about what the hell it will look like in the editor. I want to write with less fussing with the look and just know that when I put "*" around a word, it will bold it regardless of where the content is. That and also eliminate the concept of any quick keys. That will probably take a long while to get down, but it should help speed things up on the writing front.

It's going to an exciting year for me and I'm going to try and make some posts on here be more visual and do some sort of video update on a weekly or so basis. Not quite sure on that, but I'll worry about that later. Just know that this is hopefully the year I get stuff done.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/12/14/new-host.html"><rss:title>New Host</rss:title><rss:link>http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/12/14/new-host.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Two major changes in a row. If you're seeing this, you should not only see a new design, but I should be on my new host of Squarespace. In the end of all my design revision, I realized I'm kind of tired of coding and designing and should get back to writing and such. There might be some other moves in the coming months, such as a domain transfer, but if that happens, it will only be momentary. In case, enjoy my new host. As since the move, though the comments did make the transfer fine, the disqus setup did not. The guys at disqus were very helpful and would be able to remap each comment, but it is too much of a hassle to worry about it. I sill have the comments and if you want to post the exact same thing, feel free to. But for now, its probably time for a reset anyways. Enjoy the new host and from here on out, we have ways to get all the data out.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/11/21/new-name.html"><rss:title>New name</rss:title><rss:link>http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/11/21/new-name.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Thoughts and Rants site related</dc:subject>

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/10/19/updates-ahoy.html"><rss:title>Updates Ahoy!</rss:title><rss:link>http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/10/19/updates-ahoy.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Thoughts and Rants</dc:subject>

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/4/12/so-my-online-doppelganger-is-french.html"><rss:title>So My Online Doppelgänger is French</rss:title><rss:link>http://rvillegas.org/blog/2009/4/12/so-my-online-doppelganger-is-french.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Thoughts and Rants</dc:subject>

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
